Alongside other networks, and TikTok has announced a range of new initiatives and tools to help users take part in celebrating the LGBTQ+ community for Pride Month, and promoting creators within the app.
First off, TikTok has launched a new push behind the hashtag #ForYourPride to encourage community participation in the event. TikTok has also announced the participants in its second annual LGBTQ+ TikTok Trailblazers initiative, which looks to highlight creators making a positive impact on the platform.
Hi, my name is Fab (I know, what a way to kick off hey), and no, it’s not short for fabulous, you cheeky little thing.
First and foremost, some Medium introductions. You may have read my pieces in the following columns:
I love hosting other of my podcasts. I really do. On the one hand, I am working hard to disrupt an industry with Alt Marketing School. But, on the other hand, on the Make an Impact Show, I get to talk to incredible individuals, experts and creatives, taking the word entrepreneur and giving it a whole new meaning.
Today, I want to introduce you to one of my favourite guests from this whole season, Half English, half Mexican (with an American accent), Mariel Witmond.
I’m a podcaster. With over 100 episodes under my belt across two shows, I realised I could add podcaster to my multi-hyphenate biography.
Looking back on my podcasting experience, I started five shows in my career. The first one aired in 2014, and it was a wildly different experience than the one hosts have these days.
Going back to podcasting in 2019, when I launched the Make an Impact Show, it reminded me that expectations have changed. The quality of the content and the experience is just different.
Over the past eight years, I tried over 20 different tools, which…
It’s that time of the week, amazing marketer — it’s time for the latest and greatest marketing news.
After last week’s big news about how the Instagram algorithm actually works, I jumped straight into the latest announcement and looked at what it means for marketers with a full piece you can read here.
As summer is upon us, everything feels like consciously slowing down. From reflection to revision, it’s a great time to take stock of the first half of this mad year.
This week Spotify announced the launch of Greenroom, a new mobile app that allows Spotify users worldwide…
Can you remember some of the best pieces of advice you have received? How many articles have you bookmarked for later and forever forgotten about? What about all of those incredible ideas you have had and never seen the light of day?
I am building my second brain, and, for once, I feel I am incredibly late to the party. As Becca, a friend of mine and co-host of Alt Marketing School’s podcast, introduced me to Notion last week, I realized that you could build your second brain in a few simple clicks.
Just a few days prior, Chief Education…
After a very, very long time (so much so that it feels like it would never happen), Instagram decided to grace marketers with an official explanation of how its algorithm works. This piece of information felt as elusive as the location of the Holy Grail, or Noah’s Ark.
As part of its Creator Week event, Instagram provided extra insight into its internal processes as well as what’s coming up next for the platform — for more of that, I’d recommend checking out News in Brief.
As per Adam Mosseri’s piece:
“Instagram doesn’t have one algorithm that oversees what people do…
Do you know where your time goes every single week? I mean, really? During my research for the 3-step method I outlined in my latest book, Reclaim Your Time Off, I discovered that 40% of workers spend a quarter of their weeks on repetitive tasks.
In the book, I talk extensively about automations and the power of recognising and simplifying any repetitive task when you’re running a business, especially as when starting, you’ll find yourself juggling loads of jobs at different times. It’s just the nature of what we do as entrepreneurs.
There are loads of automations that you can…
In a world where we are pushed to excel, can we find happiness and success in coming second?
We are constantly looking outside to find references that can show us what success truly ‘looks like’.
In a well-known study, psychologists asked people to look at medalists and rate their level of happiness based on their facial expressions. You would assume gold medalists will be at the top of this list, followed by silver and bronze. Yet, this was not the case.
The findings were surprising. In fact, bronze medalists are generally more content than silver medalists, despite having finished behind…
Your book launch is coming up real soon. How exciting is that?
Last month I launched my second book, and I can tell you that I was just equally excited to share my knowledge, passion, and work with the world.
You may be thinking the most significant bulk of the work is done. However, if you want to get as much traction and spotlight as possible throughout your launch week, there are different things that you need to bear in mind.
We looked at how creating a media promotional plan helps you in the month leading up to the event…
